Privacy Policy

What we collect, why, and the choices you have. Short version: only what you type into our forms.

Last updated .

Summary

  • We collect personal information only when you send us a form (contact, correction, complaint, copyright, privacy request or accessibility report).
  • The site uses no cookies, no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixels and no third-party scripts, fonts or embeds.
  • We do not sell or share personal information, and we don’t use it for marketing.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your information using our privacy request form.

Who we are

This policy covers the website at bookmy-service.com, run by Book My Service (“we”, “us”). We publish informational appointment guides. We are not a government agency, health provider or booking service.

Information we collect

Information you send us

When you submit a form, we receive what you type into it. Depending on the form this can include your name, email address, the page you are writing about, your message, and — for copyright notices — an optional organization name and mailing address and your typed signature. Fields marked optional can be left blank. Please don’t send sensitive information such as medical details, ID or case numbers, or payment information; we don’t need it.

With each submission we also record the date and time it was received, the page you sent it from, and a random reference number.

Technical information

Like any website, our servers receive your IP address and basic browser information when you load a page. To limit repeated submissions, our form handler keeps a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address in temporary memory; it is never written to storage or saved with your submission, and is discarded once it is no longer needed for that purpose (normally after about ten minutes). Our hosting provider processes request information such as IP address, browser type and the address requested in order to deliver and protect the site, under its own privacy terms.

When you search, your search words appear in the page address (for example /search/?q=passport) and are requested from our host like any page. The search itself runs in your browser; we don’t keep a record of searches.

What we don’t collect

We don’t use cookies, local storage, analytics tools, advertising networks, social media plugins, session recording, fingerprinting or location tracking. See Cookies.

How we use information

  • To read and reply to your message, review corrections and complaints, process copyright notices and privacy requests, and fix accessibility problems.
  • To keep a record of corrections, complaints and legal notices and how we handled them.
  • To protect the forms from spam and abuse.

We don’t use your information for marketing, profiling or automated decisions, and we don’t add you to any mailing list.

Who we share it with

Form submissions are delivered securely from our website to the system our team uses to manage messages. We use service providers only to run the site: our website host, and the service that receives form submissions. They may process information only to provide their services to us.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights or the safety of others. If you send a copyright notice, it may be shared with the person who supplied the material in question where the law provides for that. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

How long we keep it

We keep submissions only as long as we need them to respond and to keep a record of the outcome, and then delete them. Records of corrections, complaints and legal notices may be kept longer where needed to show how we handled them or to meet legal obligations.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. Use the privacy request form. We will confirm receipt by email, may ask you to confirm you control the email address you used, and will respond as soon as we can — normally within 45 days. We won’t treat you differently for making a request.

Some U.S. states, including California, give residents specific privacy rights. Whether or not those laws apply to a site of our size, we honor access, correction and deletion requests from anyone. Because we don’t sell or share personal information, use it for targeted advertising, or use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics, there is nothing to opt out of; if that ever changes, we will update this policy first, offer a clear opt-out, and honor Global Privacy Control signals.

Children

This site is meant for a general adult audience and is not directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, please use the privacy request form and we will delete it.

Security

The site is served only over HTTPS, uses strict security headers, and form submissions are validated and sent over an encrypted connection. Access to submissions is limited to people who need it to respond. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so please don’t send information you don’t need to.

Our guides link to official and third-party websites. Those sites have their own privacy practices, which this policy does not cover.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal information, we will update this page and the date above before the change takes effect.
