Our goal
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This is our goal, not a certification.
What we do
- Semantic HTML with one main heading per page, landmarks, a skip link and breadcrumb navigation.
- Text and controls designed for sufficient color contrast; visible focus outlines; no content that flashes.
- Every feature works with a keyboard, including the mobile menu and forms.
- Form fields have labels, hints and clear error messages that are announced to screen readers.
- Pages are tested at widths from 320 to 1920 pixels and reflow without horizontal scrolling.
- Images are decorative illustrations with empty alternative text, or have a text alternative.
- Before each release we run automated checks (axe-core) on every page and test layouts from small phones to large desktops. Automated tools can’t catch everything, so we also test keyboard navigation, focus handling and form error messages.
Known limitations
- Site search needs JavaScript. Without it, every guide is still reachable through the topic pages.
- Our guides link to official websites we don’t control; their accessibility may differ.
Report a barrier
Use the form on this page. Tell us the page, what you were trying to do, and the device or assistive technology you use. We aim to reply within 5 business days if you leave an email address, and to fix confirmed problems as quickly as we can. If you would like information from a page in a different format, say so in the form.
